The Coronation Hall

Ulverston’s Markets
Ulverston received its Charter in 1280 and markets have been held regularly in the town since then. The indoor market, open five days a week, has traditional old world charm. The outdoor markets are on Thursday and Saturday with a monthly farmer’s market.

Specialist Shops
Ulverston is famous for its amazing number of independent specialist shops. It still has a herbalist, a wool shop, a shoemaker, a clock mender and maker, book shops, a music shop, two hardware stores, 3 local independent jewellery shops, as well as cycle shops with the very latest in cycling equipment and a shop with everything the fanatical fisherman might require.
Its many Fashion Shops host a fashion festival for a week each year culminating in a Fashion Show in the Coronation Hall.

Walking

There are also five leaflets available online or from the Tourist Information Centre outlining both short and longer low level walks around Ulverston. You can follow the historic Town Trail, or venture onto the hills and fells around the town taking an eleven mile circular walk with extensive views of Morecambe Bay and the Lake District Mountains.
